chubby aint bad after all

i knew, that as i aged, i would gain weight. but not to the extent where i am today. some say i dont look like my weight, but the DTA (distrustful asshole) in me thinks that theyre just being nice. i dont believe people who arent in the same situation, mainly because they have no empathy. that said, i also find that a lot of people in long-term relationships tend to be more chubby, as it were, than someone who is/was dating or is single. many would agree that its the extra stress a relationship has that put on the extra baggage. others say its complacency and laziness. for me, its because im tired and oftentimes, hungry.

…and teach ’em to watch their back. cos you never know who’s watching.

one day my own son will do this. that’s right. i know my wife is reading this right now, thinking “no he’s not”… oh, he will, alright. when you least expect it too. all little boys do it, and as parents you’ll get a kick out of it…though you know its just not right.

thanks john@HH

It’s going to space!

comedian Louis CK makes a great point about today’s society… we dont appreciate technology. i can remember when pagers were the “in” thing to have. mainly because cell technology was still young and expensive for the average person to afford. i went through several pagers in my life… all motorola, of course. it was a way for me to be contacted well before email, blogs, text messaging, and social media sites… that said, i for one, DO appreciate technology. i love the instant-ness that has become the norm. yet, i’m afraid of it. im afraid of it failing and forcing the use of “old-fashioned” methods of communication… like talking. i can count on on one hand, the number of close acquaintances and family members that communicate more by technology than by verbal communication… and i can only hope its not always going to be that way

my bday is coming up soon and im not sure what i want to do. wifey is planning something for the wknd of, but i usually celebrate the entire month. why the hell not? fuckit. anyhow, i stumbled upon pictures of last year’s celebratory proceedings at The Falcon in hollywood from DJ Splice’s webpage… and man, i didnt know how fucked up i really was until i saw these pics. i was probably in and out of delirium judging from the way i was throwing up “LA” – all backwards and shit. seriously – WTF? anyhow… you gotta laugh at life tho and who gives a shit anyway, as long as it was fun. i figure this year… it will be car bombs and vodka lemonades all over again… ending up with me driving home all weirded out cos everything seems slow. thanks DJ Splice for posting these; they will forever be a reminder of my descent into the mid-30s. meh.

i miss my childhood

so far, everyone ive asked – guys mostly – have never heard of Stomper 4x4s… look, robotech and transformers and voltron were cool and shit, but not realistic. i liked toys that were small replicas of what i would see in real life – and Stompers were THE toy for me. i guess thats how i learned not to live in a fantasy world. i never truly believed in santa, or the tooth fairy… cos it just didnt make sense – it wasnt tangible. i couldnt apply futuristic robots to my life then. anyhow… check it:
